About the Employer

Common Thread Vision seeks to bring people from all backgrounds and ethnic minority community members from the Southside and surrounding areas to participate in health and wellbeing activities, reducing social isolation and loneliness.

The Project provides a supportive, respectful, and culturally safe space for everyone. Over 50+ have a language problem, this group gives them a sense of belonging.
They deliver activities to promote health and wellbeing and foster a greater community understanding.

About the Vacancy

We are looking for a Grant Writer to research suitable funding opportunities and help us prepare and develop grant applications. The role will involve working closely with the Chair and helping us identify funding opportunities that can support our work with older women in the community. We are looking for a female volunteer for this role as the position involves regular communication and close working with the Chair within our women-led organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research suitable grant and funding opportunities.
  • Assist with writing and developing funding applications.
  • Gather relevant information, evidence and supporting documents.
  • Work closely with the Chair to develop funding applications.
  • Help maintain a record of funding opportunities and application deadlines.

Key Competencies

  • Good written English.
  • Strong research and organisational skills.
  • Ability to write clearly, accurately and concisely.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Experience of grant writing is desirable but not essential if you have strong writing skills and are willing to learn.
  • An interest in supporting older people and community development.
