We are thrilled to announce a new partnership between CEMVO Scotland and Children’s Hearings Scotland.
Children’s Hearings Scotland is a well-established organisation with a vision for all infants, children, young people and their families to be safe, loved, and supported to realise their full potential.
The organisation focuses on recruiting and training volunteers, known as Children’s Panel Members, who are responsible for making legal decisions at children’s hearings. This is an incredible opportunity for you to receive training and develop your skills while helping ensure that children across Scotland are cared for and protected by volunteering as a Children’s Panel Member.
This unique role is unlike any other, providing many benefits that will help motivate and inspire you, while also giving you the chance to get involved in your community and create positive changes. Why volunteer as a Panel Member? Volunteering with Children’s Hearings Scotland as a Panel Member is an opportunity to enhance your skills. You’ll receive specialised training to help you prepare for the position, but soft skills such as active listening, empathy and the ability to build trust are just some of traits that will make you a good candidate. Alongside gaining these skills, you will also have wellbeing support throughout your volunteer journey.
CEMVO Scotland will be hosting an engagement session with people from Ethnic Minorities on the 4th of September 2024, in our offices at Glasgow City Centre. Find more info and book in our Eventbrite event site
