    As the governing body for basketball, we are passionate about increasing the positive experiences for all participating in basketball. About the vacancy

    To provide a financial perspective on the strategic direction of the organisation. To maintain an overview of the organisation’s financial performance, systems and processes on behalf of the Executive Board. This role is a strategic level role, with day-to-day finances managed by the staff team and outsourced finance support, which includes payroll and management support.

Key Responsibilities

    • Working with the Head of Operations to monitor financial performance and system compliance.
    • Attending Board meetings and AGM/EGMs
    • Presenting quarterly management accounts to the Board (to be prepared by Head of Operations)
    • Presenting annual accounts to the Board and the membership (to be prepared by Head of Operations)
    • To maintain an ongoing understanding and overview of the annual budget and long-term financial plan of basketballscotland
    • To chair the Finance Sub-Committee of the Board
    • To provide advice, when required, to the Board on specific finance related issues
    • To provide operational support and guidance, when requested, to the professional staff responsible for finances

Key Competencies

    • Has the ability to maintain a strategic overview of finances without direct involvement in the operational management of the finances.
    • Is able to present complex financial information in a concise, understandable manner. • Can analyse and recommend improvements to financial systems.
    • Is a qualified accountant and/or has relevant professional experience.
    • Has a positive, solution focussed outlook.
    • Enjoys working as part of a team.
