About the vacancy

    As a Power Platform Technical Specialist, you will lead the development and implementation of enterprise-level applications that drive our business processes and improve customer experience. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our digital services, enabling colleagues to perform their roles more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

    ● Providing technical subject matter expertise to address business requirements
    ● Will act as technical subject matter expert on complex projects/change initiatives including leading the solution design process (with direction from Lead Developer depending on scale of project) and assist and influence other technical team members, cross functional leads and business stakeholders
    In future, potential management of a small team, identification of appropriate skill sets and resourcing needs, and mentoring of individuals within applicable delivery workstreams and ensuing appropriate functions are meeting agreed work item estimations and SLAs whilst managing conflicting demands
    ● Provide input and implement changes into delivery and support service functions and processes that positively affect productivity and performance based on user feedback
    ● Actively promote awareness and look to evolve technical standards and principles that will be utilised across SE
    ● Produce and manage relevant technical documentation for the systems application lifecycle and support of the applications and solutions
    ● Maintaining best practices for Platform administration and monitoring
    ● Proactively spotting warning signs of things going wrong with software delivery and proactively actioning to address it
    ● Working closely with other functions across Digital Factory and DDIT to ensure system integrations are secure and stable and that service management issues are resolved in a timely manner

Key Competencies

    Skills:
    ● Hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise-level applications built on the Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power Virtual Agents.
    ● Proficient in configuring and using Microsoft Dataverse and deploying Dynamics 365 applications.
    ● Appropriate Microsoft certifications to evidence your expertise.
    ● Experience using advanced customisation techniques such as client-side scripting (JavaScript, Typescript), Server-side development (i.e. Plugins) and developing reusable components using the Power Platform Framework – our strategy is low-code/no-code but there will be occasions when custom coding will be required

    Experience:
    ● Solid understanding of iterative software development and application lifecycle management (ALM).
    ● Experience managing or mentoring a team and working in agile environments is essential.
    ● Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools for CI/CD and backlog/progress tracking is also required.
