Volunteer

The aim of EKTA Group ECF (Elderly Care Forum)  is to bring appropriate services directly into the community, making support easier to access for elderly members while reducing isolation and promoting health, safety, independence and social inclusion.

Volunteers will help with all aspects of everyday running of our care and wellbeing programs, including admin, organising events, and running regular activities.

Volunteers will be involved in assisting activities of their choice, from the following list:

• Health & Wellbeing: Podiatry, dental care, optician visits, health awareness, dementia awareness and elderly abuse prevention.
• Digital & Communication: Basic IT, social media, English language support, translators and assistance accessing health and other services.
• Safety & Security: Community Police safety advice, home safety and support from banks to raise awareness of scams and financial fraud.
• Creative & Social Activities: Glass painting, embroidery, beading, pottery and community celebrations, including our 35-year celebration.
• Volunteering & Community Support: Developing volunteers to provide practical support and help elderly members remain active, connected and independent.

We look for community-minded, kind and proactive individuals who want to help alleviate social exclusion and isolation and make a difference in the lives of elderly population in Glasgow, especially from Sikh and Asian backgrounds.
