The Project provides a supportive, respectful, and culturally safe space for everyone. Over 50+ have a language problem, this group gives them a sense of belonging.
They deliver activities to promote health and wellbeing and foster a greater community understanding.
About the Vacancy
We are hiring a Treasurer to support us with the financial management and accounts of our charity. We are happy to consider both male and female volunteers for this role, as it is primarily a finance and governance role and does not involve regular direct work with our members.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee the charity’s finances and financial planning.
· Present clear financial updates at Board meetings.
· Help prepare and monitor the annual budget.
· Review income and expenditure with the Chair and Trustees.
· Liaise with the accountant regarding the annual accounts and Independent Examination.
· Support funding applications by providing financial information where required.
· Help the Board make informed financial decisions.
· Attend approximately 8 Board meetings each year (a mixture of in-person and online meetings).

· Organised and comfortable working with numbers.
· A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.
· Supportive of women, older people and community wellbeing.
· Committed to helping a local charity grow and thrive.
Essential:
· Experience of maintaining financial records and bookkeeping.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (or similar spreadsheet software) and confidence in maintaining financial spreadsheets and records.
· Ability to prepare and maintain income and expenditure records, budgets and simple financial reports.
Desirable:
· Experience of using Xero accounting software.
· A finance, bookkeeping or accountancy qualification (or currently working towards one) would be an advantage, but is not essential.
· Previous experience as a Treasurer or Trustee would be welcomed but is not essential, as support and induction will be provided.
