About the Employer

Common Thread Vision seeks to bring people from all backgrounds and ethnic minority community members from the Southside and surrounding areas to participate in health and wellbeing activities, reducing social isolation and loneliness.

The Project provides a supportive, respectful, and culturally safe space for everyone. Over 50+ have a language problem, this group gives them a sense of belonging.
They deliver activities to promote health and wellbeing and foster a greater community understanding.

About the Vacancy

We are hiring a social media volunteer to help us design flyers and promotional materials for our Lunch Club, Yoga, Arts & Crafts and other activities, as well as creating content and helping to promote Common Thread Vision through our Facebook and Instagram pages. We are currently looking for a female volunteer for this role as it involves regular communication with our Project Leader and supporting the promotion of a women–led organisation and women’s community activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and schedule posts for Facebook and Instagram.
  • Design flyers and promotional materials using Canva or similar tools.
  • Share updates, photos and stories from our activities and events.
  • Help promote our activities and increase awareness of CTV.
  • Suggest creative ideas for social media content and online promotion.
  • Interact with followers and respond to messages or comments where appropriate.

Key Competencies

  • Enjoys using social media, particularly Facebook and Instagram.
  • Is creative and enjoys designing content.
  • Has good communication skills and an interest in digital media.
  • Is reliable, organised and able to work independently.
  • Has some experience with Canva or similar design tools.
  • Knowledge of AI tools would be helpful but is not essential.
  • Is interested in supporting women, older people and community initiatives.
