About the Employer

Navigating Sanctuary Life is a Glasgow-based community organisation supporting refugees, asylum seekers and New Scots. We work to reduce barriers, promote inclusion and help people navigate life in Scotland through practical support, community activities, information and opportunities for connection.

About the Vacancy

Navigating Sanctuary Life (NSL) is looking for  creative and reliable volunteers to support our social media and digital communications.
The volunteers will help us promote our work supporting refugees, asylum seekers and New Scots, share information about our projects and events, celebrate the achievements of our community, and increase awareness of the organisation across our social media platforms.

Time commitment:

Approximately a few hours per week with some flexibility around when the work is completed. Usually looking for approx 3-4 posts per week across all channels ie Linked in, IG, FB and X.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating engaging social media posts and graphics
  • Using Canva to design visual content
  • Writing captions and adapting content for different social media platforms
  • Using AI tools to support content creation, writing and ideas
  • Posting and scheduling content across NSL’s social media channels
  • Promoting events, projects, funding announcements and organisational updates
  • Working with the NSL team to identify suitable content and information to share
  •  Helping maintain a consistent and professional online presence

Key Competencies

We are particularly looking for someone who already has a basic working knowledge of social media, Canva and AI tools, as the role involves independently creating and adapting digital content. Guidance and a handover will be provided, but some previous experience or confidence using these tools would be beneficial.
The role would suit someone interested in social media, communications, marketing, community development or the third sector, and would provide useful practical experience within a growing community organisation.
