About the Employer
Seham and Najma is a registered charity (SC054431) dedicated to supporting asylum seekers and refugees who are among the most vulnerable in our communities. Our volunteers work with a spirit of welcome and community aiming to create a warm and enjoyable space where people could connect, share stories, and enjoy a meal together.

About the Vacancy
Help and general tasks in our weekly community meals. Volunteers are expected to work on-site most Fridays between 5pm and 7pm at Gorbals Parish Church, where we organise or community meal.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and interact with asylum seekers and refugees.
- Help participants feel comfortable, included and respected.
- Encourage social interaction and community connections.
- Assist with serving meals and supporting activities.
- Respect participants’ privacy, cultural backgrounds and confidentiality.
Key Competencies
We welcome friendly, reliable and compassionate volunteers who are passionate about supporting asylum seekers and refugees. Previous experience is helpful.
